Overview
This rigorous course introduces participants to a robust and straightforward process to identify and analyze key stakeholders for any engagement project – a critical step in an inclusive and equity-centered engagement design process. After understanding the theory and purpose, participants use short cases provided by the trainer or the client to practice stakeholder mapping.
With trainer guidance, participants learn how to identify and analyze the full spectrum of stakeholders, with a special focus on underrepresented stakeholders who will need additional outreach and support to ensure equitable engagement. For each case, the group then moves through the map “cleaning” process in which they further analyze and identify key stakeholders for that project.
The result is a well-understood and -defined set of key stakeholders, a good sense of each group’s stake in the project, and a clear basis for and commitment to engaging the full spectrum of key stakeholders.
