National Council on Problem Gambling, Strategic Planning

NCPG is the only national nonprofit organization that seeks to minimize the economic and social costs associated with gambling addiction. As NCPG launched this strategic planning process in late 2022, it was clear that the landscape and some key issues had changed in important ways, as had their ability to access and engage key stakeholders. That made it the perfect time to refresh and update the strategic plan, and do so more deeply and inclusively.

This multistep process was grounded in a commitment to gathering input and feedback from a broad range of key internal and external stakeholders, and using those perspectives to shape the entire plan.

The work included an organizational performance assessment, comprehensive SWOT analysis, extensive stakeholder input, vision-mission development, goal-strategy development, stakeholder feedback on the draft plan, and a final working Strategic Plan.

Ongoing implementation support includes assessing and restructuring the extensive volunteer groups, links to workplanning, and monitoring and reporting.
