Client: Lower Phalen Creek Project
Project: The Lower Phalen Creek Project is a partnership between Saint Paul’s East Side and Lowertown neighborhoods that works collaboratively ecological, cultural and educational resources. The board began their strategic planning process by committing to reaching out to a range of stakeholders to bring multiple perspectives into their decision-making process.
After identifying and analyzing stakeholders, we developed a series of key issues and questions. The group chose partner-supported small group sessions, online surveys, and interviews to gather stakeholder perspectives to shape the strategic plan. Collectively, we heard from community members, funders, elected officials and agency staff, district council, Native American tribal groups, and internal stakeholders. From this input, the board shaped a set of far-reaching and thoughtful long-term goals and mid-term strategies that formed the center of their robust Strategic Plan.
