Telluride Association

Strategic Planning, Governance and Organizational Development, and Implementation Support: Designed and implemented this national nonprofit’s first strategic planning process in its 100-year history, followed by a comprehensive organizational development analysis and recommendations, and further implementation support as they moved forward with action items and content refinement.

After an innovative online stakeholder “mapping” process, robust SWOT analysis, and detailed engagement planning, the two-round stakeholder consultation process communicated with and engaged the board, program alumni from around the world, donors, staff, and partners using in-person and online techniques. Following significant debate and deliberation by members, the Association adopted a new mission statement, long-term goals and mid-term strategies, and a robust workplanning process for multiple committees and administration.

The organizational development project analyzed current governance and operations compared to existing nonprofit models; and identified critical issues, gaps, and opportunities/ recommendations across the entire organization including governance, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, development, programs, risk management, personnel, and financials. Follow-up implementation support helped the team create a framework to refine and sustain their strategic priorities.
