Center for Energy and Environment: Healthy Homes

Client: Center for Energy and Environment

Project: Stakeholder engagement and decision support for Healthy Homes project to find ways to make weatherization and lead abatement services and funding opportunities accessible and actually used by many more low-income residents in Minneapolis and Hennepin County.

Following research done by CEE staff, worked with multiple agencies to create draft process maps of the various processes from residents’ perspectives, and then revised and finalized those in consultation with program staff.

Worked with CEE to design a welcoming and respectful process to bring together the key city and county agencies, nonprofits, funders, and private entities as a Task Force. Designed and facilitated two intense workshops to facilitate collaborative, productive solutions to better serve residents.

The workshops provided context for the project, built consensus on desired outcomes, used the process flowcharts to identify gaps and opportunities, explored solutions to income-eligibility mismatches across programs, and understood gaps and overlaps in services and criteria. As a result, the final report prepared by CEE was able to identify the critical short- and mid-term issues and recommendations, and Task Force members committed to their roles moving the work forward to better meet residents’ needs.
