Hennepin County Homelessness: Cultural Competency

Client: Hennepin County Office to End Homelessness

Cultural Competency Inventory and Professional Development: As part of the Heading Home Hennepin program, worked with the County Cultural Competency Committee and the County Office to End Homelessness to develop and implement a transformational Cultural Competency Inventory and Professional Development Guide to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.

Used a highly collaborative development process to engage youth, families, and adults experiencing homelessness as well as providers from dozens of agencies to develop criteria for and then pilot the Inventory tool.

The work focused on professional development and growth for provider staff and leadership, with results used internally and then aggregated for countywide analysis and system accountability.

Thank you all so much. You did a terrific job!  I know this project had its challenges, but you handled it all with grace and professionalism. Thank you and I look forward to working with you all again someday as well. I wish you the very best on your next project. You have made a great contribution to our work of ending homelessness and I am grateful.
